Peptidci

Peptitler (Grekçe: πεπτίδια; “ufak tefek sindirilebilirler”) tanımlanmış bir düzende, α-amino asitlerin birbirine bağlanmasıyla oluşan gücük polimerlerdir.[1] Bir amino asit sözıntısı ile öbürü arasındaki bağ bir “amit bağ” veya peptit bağı olarak bilinir.[1]

Tetrapeptit (Oligopeptit)
Proteinler polipeptit molekülleridir (veya çok sayıda polipeptit ast birimi barındırır). Asliye nüans peptitlerin gücük, polipeptitlerin/proteinlerin ise uzun olmasıdır.[1]

Protein sentezi sırasında her amino asit, başka amino asite devamlı, kırılmayan bir polimer olan polipeptid zincirleriyle bağlanır. Polipeptid bünyesına zalimlan amino asitlerin her biri bünyeya peptid bağlarıyla bağlanır. Peptid bağının oluşumu sırasında amino asitlerden birinin amino grubu ile diğerinin karboksil grubu, aradan bir su çıkması sonucu birleşirler.[1]

Yaklaşık bir polipeptit zinciri 450 amino asitten oluşur.[1] Malum en uzun polipeptit, takribî 27,000 amino asitten oluşan, kas dokusunda bulunan “titin”dir. Polipeptid zincirine zalimlan amino asitlere sözıntı (residue) adı verilir.[1] Zincirin bir ucundaki sözıntı, bağ yapmamış, degaje amino grubu barındırır ve N ucu olarak adlandırılır. Aynı şekilde zincirin başka ucundaki degaje α-karboksil grubu olan sözıntıevet C ucu adı verilir.
